what is golden bomber and why are they so gross?

Golden Bomber is a visual kei band. Over the years they've gone through a lot of changes in style, but they've kept their whole parody v-kei aesthetic since their debut song, Memeshikute, which blew up as it was considered a funny meme or something like that.

They originally formed in 2004 when Sho (alongside Yutaka) was in high school under the name Ni-yan and they only ever had one performance, but after a break Sho took, he revisited the concept and made it into what we know today as...Golden Bomber! Originally just a punk band, it slowly became a sort of v-kei band over time.

The line-up started as just Sho Kiryuin (vocals) and Yutaka Kyan (guitar), but in 2005 the band got a shortlived drummer and keyboardist, Chimatsuri Teppei. He was only ever in the band more than a year, quickly being replaced by Dankichi Tenkuujou, who stayed for around two years, leaving in April 2009. As for bass, Jun Utahiroba joined the band as their bassist in April 2007, and as he joined, GB gained a sort-of-final lineup. Wait...I SAID DANKICHI LEFT!!!! WHAT HAPPENED AFTER HE LEFT!!!! we got our current drummer, Kenji Darvish. Yay! Kenji was the only member with past band experience, being a roadie for Everset when they were called Missing Tear (so he was like 17 at the youngest and 21 at the oldest as a roadie :p) and eventually forming a parody band called REVERSET in 2008.

Keep in mind there are tons and tons of conflicting sources on which members left and joined before Kenji ;_; I'm mostly just using vk.gy as a source.

Golden Bomber's entire concept is (get ready for this) Hyper Giga Hybrid Super Subculture Visual Rock. That's been their motif ever since like 2008. They started off as an indies band, but eventually got signed to Zany Zap in 2006, with their earliest release under the label being the minialbum Ongaku ga Bokura wo Dame ni Suru, consisting of 7 tracks, 6 original and 1 cover.

As of writing this in early 2024, GB has 5 original albums, 5 best-of albums, 5 misc. albums (which i will get into), 29 singles (physical and digital), and too many concert dvds for me to countLOLOLOL

The misc. albums refer to three things: their indies-era albums from 2006-2007, the OST for their movie Sorinokoshita Natsu, and their Imitation Gold EP. yeah that's it

the reason they may seem gross is because all that ppl post are pics from their weird dvd bonuses and old blogs on pinterest PLEASE LISTEN TO THEM IM BEGGING YOU

you may be wondering ooohhh where do i start Start with their compilation albums k? golden best pressure then brassiere then the past masters then fes best then the original albums then do whatever u want. listen to their b-sides. yolo
